How we count and verify our data
Data InfoMetrix counts a company as a user of a technology when we find evidence of it: web footprint scans, job posts, partner directories and our own research. Where a tool leaves no public trace, the count is a market-research estimate. Contacts are verified by SMTP checks and human review before delivery, and counts were last refreshed in October 2026.
From signal to verified list
1. Detect who runs the technology
We look for evidence that a company uses a tool: its web footprint (DNS records, scripts and tags on its sites), job posts that ask for the tool, integration and partner directories, and our own research. A company is counted once per technology list, however many signals we find for it.
2. Estimate where detection falls short
Some tools leave no public footprint, and newer tools grow faster than any scan. For these, the count is a market-research estimate that we replace with detected accounts as our coverage grows. That is why every count on the site is labelled as an estimate.
3. Map the buying committee
For each account we match the people who decide on, administer and use the tool: decision-makers, influencers and day-to-day users, with job title, seniority, department, business email, direct dial and LinkedIn profile.
4. Verify before delivery
Contacts come from public company sources, professional directories, event registrations and opt-in publishing partners. Before a list ships, every email goes through MX and SMTP checks and spam-trap filtering, and our research team reviews the records by hand.
Sourcing and compliance
We collect business contact data, meaning people in their professional roles at their work email and phone, from public company sources, professional directories, event registrations and opt-in publishing partners. We do not sell consumer data.
United States (CAN-SPAM). Commercial email to business contacts is allowed without prior consent if it identifies the sender, uses honest subject lines, includes a physical address and offers a working unsubscribe that you honour within 10 business days.
EU and UK (GDPR). B2B outreach usually relies on legitimate interest. Keep the message relevant to the person's role, tell them where you got their details, and remove anyone who objects. Some countries add their own e-marketing rules, so check local requirements. See our GDPR page.
California (CCPA) and Canada (CASL). We honour access and deletion requests for data we hold; see our CCPA page. CASL is stricter about consent for commercial email to Canadian recipients, so review it before emailing Canadian contacts.
This is general guidance, not legal advice. You are responsible for how you use the data, and we're happy to tailor a list to your compliance needs.
Questions, answered
What does the company count on a list page mean?
It is the number of organizations where we have detected the technology, or, for tools without a public footprint, our market-research estimate. The contact count is the number of verified business contacts we hold at those organizations. Both are estimates, and a live count for your exact filters can be higher or lower, so ask us for a current count.
Why do category and site totals say "records"?
Category and site totals add up every list in them. A company that runs two tools appears in both lists, so the totals (234.4M+ contact records and 39.5M+ company records across 902 lists) count records, not unique companies or people.
How often is the data refreshed?
Counts on the site were last refreshed in October 2026. Contact data runs on a 30 to 45 day refresh cycle, and every custom list gets a final verification pass just before delivery.
What is the 1:1 hard bounce replacement?
We guarantee 99% email deliverability. If an email we delivered hard bounces within 30 days of delivery, tell us and we replace it 1-for-1 with a verified contact at no cost. Soft bounces (full mailboxes, temporary server errors) are not hard bounces and are not covered.
What is included in a technology users list?
Each record carries 60+ fields: company name, domain, industry, size, revenue and address, the technology and edition detected, and the contact's name, title, seniority, department, verified business email, direct dial, phone and LinkedIn profile. Intent data and any custom field can be added on request.
Can I filter a list by edition, region or company size?
Yes. Every list is built to your criteria: technology and edition, job function and seniority, industry, employee count, revenue band, and country, state or region. You get a count and a free 10-record sample before you buy.
How is this different from a data broker's fixed database?
We do not sell a static export. Lists are assembled to your ideal customer profile when you order, verified just before delivery, and backed by the 1:1 hard bounce replacement, so you are not buying records that have sat unchecked for months.
